1. Controller
The details of the controller are being added.
2. Overview
We only process the data needed to run this website, your account and the licenses. There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no embedded content from other providers (not even external fonts). The security check (captcha) runs on our own server.
3. Hosting
The website, the database and the e-mail delivery are run by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers are located in Germany.\n\nWhen any page is requested, the web server processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser identifier) and may store it briefly in server log files. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Abuse protection
To detect attacks and abuse (e.g. many sign-in attempts or mass sign-ups), we store the IP address, the time, the type of request and the result for sign-ins, sign-ups, password requests, downloads, security checks and license checks. These entries are deleted automatically after 60 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Cookies
We only set technically necessary cookies: hive_site keeps you signed in and protects forms (deleted when you close the browser), hive_lang remembers the language you chose (1 year). The hidden admin area adds a session cookie for the administrator. No consent is required for this (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG).
6. Account
For an account we store your e-mail address, name, password (only as a secure hash, never in plain text), language and the times of sign-up, confirmation and last sign-in. We use them to provide the account, the download, the trial license, suggestions and tickets (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can delete your account yourself at any time under "My account".
7. Security check (captcha)
We protect forms with a computing task that your browser solves automatically (the "ALTCHA" principle, our own implementation). No data is sent to third parties and no cookies are set; we only store a checksum of the solved task for at most 20 minutes so it cannot be used twice.
8. E-mails
We only send you e-mails that belong to your account: confirming your address, resetting your password, your trial license and replies to your tickets. No newsletter, no advertising.
9. Suggestions and tickets
Suggestions are publicly visible with your name; who voted for what is not public. Only you and we see tickets. We keep content until you delete it or your account, or until its purpose no longer applies.
10. Licenses and the H.I.V.E. program
When activating and during the regular check (about every 6 hours), H.I.V.E. sends the license key, an anonymous machine ID (checksum of the Windows installation ID and the computer name), the computer name and the program version to our license server; we also store the IP address and the times. This is needed to perform the contract – it is the only way to check the license and the number of PCs (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is deleted when the PC is released or the license is deleted. For trial licenses we keep the machine ID permanently so that each PC can only test once (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).\n\nThe program itself runs on your PC. Your game logins, settings and logs stay there and are not sent to us.
11. Links to other sites
We link to Discord, GitHub and Greasy Fork. These sites are only loaded when you click the link; the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies.
12. Storage period
We only keep data as long as needed for its purpose: abuse protection 60 days, unconfirmed sign-up links 48 hours, password links 1 hour, account and content until deletion, license data for the term of the license. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
13. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Just write to the address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
